You Know That One Saying...?

3/12/09
You know that saying, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade? I'm thinking of changing it to "When Wisconsin gives you (more) snow, make your own Spring." Seriously, I don't think the weather around here could be any more annoying lately.

First, we had a lovely beautiful hint of Spring. The snow had melted. Life was good... things were looking up.
Things Are Looking Up

Even the pond began to melt. Melting Pond

Not even a little fall in the mud could ruin our day... * SNICKERS * (Would you look at that face? You'd think he fell into scalding acid). ; ) Fell in the Mud

We even dug out the old T-Ball set. Open Your Eyes Kid

"HEAR YE, HEAR YE... Spring is officially here!" Hear Ye, Hear Ye

And then this happened... Snowball Thief

... THE VERY NEXT DAY. Determined Snowball Thievery

Yes, our hopes of an early Spring were crushed in a matter of a few snowy moments. Running Snowball Thief

But the snow melted in a matter of hours... Waiting With a Snowball

... and then the weather turned bitter cold. Not just a little cold, ROTTENLY, middle of winter cold. Throwing Snowballs at Daddy

So when Wisconsin gives you snow (and bitter, ROTTEN cold).... make your own darn Spring. So off we headed to the Domes... Domes

... where every days is Spring... Flower6

... or Summer.
Flower1

Where it's balmy...
Flower2

... and humid...
Flower5

... and WARM.
Flower4

If the weather doesn't start warming up, I've decided that I'm going to relocate my person temporarily to the Domes... Flower3

... and camp (hide) out in the foliage. Or cacti. Whatever. Cactus

People are happier at the Domes. Connor Hugging Matteo

Colors seem brighter. Now Wait Just a Minute

And all seems right with the world. Until it's time to go and you step outside and have to run 300 yards to your car in the 7 degree, -40 degree (with the windchill) weather.

The END.

  1. And thanks Kel for the sweet comment! My blood is so thick right now that I think I'd die of heat exhaustion if it got to be 80 degrees here right now, LOL! This Tuesday is supposed to be in the 60's... which is almost perfect to me. Glad you are enjoying the FL sun, though! : )

Hi, Deb. And thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! It's exciting to get comments, especially from strangers!

Anyway, I use the Canon 30D right now. My dream is to have the 5D because every one of my favorite bloggers (minus PW and Pastor Ryan) use that camera. Pics are amazing.

Going to be a nice week here in the Northeast! Have a great one.

  1. This is so great. And funny. And makes me ALMOST forget that we just got six inches of new snow outside our back door. Ahem.

  1. "Cluck and Tweet" You all are hilarious! I just peeked around your site-- I definitely will be going back.

So I take it you live in northern Michigan and just got some snow? At this point, after the winter we had-- if we got any more snow I think I'd literally lose my mind. What's left of it, that is.

Take care & stop by again soon!

Ah, Deb, we who live in the northland must bear all things but the summers are delightful. Be prepared for another plummeting snowfall. We had 5 - 6 inches overnight and have another blast arriving in about two hours. It is so beautiful though! Be prepared, you're next!

  1. Charleen! Say it isn't so!!! We finally just became completely snow free... I think I'm going to go hide under the covers and stay there in denial until the snow melts again!!! ; )
